OK, I admit it. To me, The Fancy Food Show never gets old! This year, we are off to the Javits Center once again to represent clients and to check out the latest, most exciting trends in the business.

Earlier this spring, we attended the Expo West in Anaheim with our client Suji’s Korean Cuisine, and had a chance to see firsthand the latest trends in the organic space. It’s exciting to see how many entrepreneurs are building specialty brands with amazing, delicious, creative concepts, and extremely high-quality products.

Truthfully, it’s apparent that the specialty food industry is bringing so much more to the table than ever before. In addition to indulgent treats like the delicate seashells and signature seahorse chocolates offered by renowned Belgian chocolatier Guylian, we are seeing a wider range of healthy food choices as well that challenge the notion that good-tasting food can’t be good for you.

New this year and just in time for Fancy Food, we’re happy to announce May Fridel, spice merchant extraordinaire, and founder of Passion for Spices, has just published her first book on Amazon.com, called Indian Cuisine Diabetes Cookbook: Savory Spices and Bold Flavors of South Asia.

Tapping into her family’s history of spice trading, she’s combined the knowledge she has of the Indian spice business with her own unique culinary touch. The cookbook, published in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association, is a delicious trek through her native cuisine, but with an emphasis on organic, in-season products touched with mouth-watering spices. We enthusiastically recommend it for delicious food that you’ll forget is good for you, it’s so darned good tasting!

We leave you to drool over the glorious photography of May’s cookbook, while we lace up our walking shoes. It’s Fancy Food time!
